The Barnhill Movement Collective (BMC) is the professional dance company of Create A Space NOW, founded by Broadway performer, educator, and

activist Hettie Barnhill.

 

BMC creates work rooted in movement, activism, and human

connection, transforming performance into dialogue and dance

into a tool for social change.

 

The company represents a diverse and multigenerational group

of artists from the Capital Region. The repertoire draws from a wide range

of dance and movement traditions, including contemporary, African, modern,

and  hip-hop techniques, and often incorporates elements of

physical theater and storytelling.

 

Together, the artists of BMC explore works that are reflective, transformative, and deeply human, using performance to both mirror and reimagine our

society, creating experiences that challenge, heal, and entertain.
